Regulations of Jordan Group
on General Terms and Conditions of Carriage of People and Goods
- GENERAL PROVISIONS
- These Regulations are the Regulations within the meaning of Article 4 of the Transport Law Act as specifying the conditions for travelers, clearance and transport of people and goods.
- The Transport Regulations of Jordan Group have been drawn up on the basis of the applicable provisions of the Polish Law, most notably:
- the Act of 15 November 1984 - Transport Law (Journal of Laws of 2000 No. 50, item 601; as amended),
- the Act of 13 June 2003 on Foreigners (Journal of Laws of 2011 No. 264, item 1573; as amended),
- the Act of 23 April 1964 – the Civil Code (Journal of Laws of 1964 No. 16, item 93; as amended),
- the Act of 29 August 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data (Journal of Laws 1997 No. 133 item 883; as amended),
- the Regulation of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Economy of 23 May 1996 (on the Transport of Passengers and Luggage),
- the Regulation of the Minister of Transport and Construction of 24 February 2006 (on the Establishment of Condition of Consignments and on Complaint Procedures),
- the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of 28 March 2011 (on the Reimbursement of Tax to Certain Taxpayers, the Issuance of Invoices and the Manner of Storing the Same, as well as on the List of Goods and Services to which Goods and Services Tax Exemptions Do Not Apply).
- The provisions of the Regulations shall apply to the licensed international coach carriers of passengers as carried out by cooperating companies - the carriers listed in the current timetable.
- The sale of tickets is carried out by the network of Jordan Group agents, at the company’s own offices and online.
- Any necessary travel information (i. e. the route of the line, locations of any changes on the route, etc.) is included in the current Jordan Group timetable as available at ticket sale outlets and at: jordan.pl
- The terms used in the Regulations shall be understood as below:
- Jordan Group with its registered office in Krakow which conducts the coach ticket sales network;
- Carrier - an operator carrying out the carriage of passengers by coach on the basis of a license for the carriage of people in international road transport;
- Passenger - a person making use of the carrier’s transport service on the basis of a valid ticket;
- Luggage - movable goods taken by a Passenger to the coach:
- registered luggage – luggage marked by the coach crew with a luggage label band and carried in a luggage compartment; basic luggage
- registered luggage whose carriage is included in the ticket price; extra luggage
- the second and subsequent pieces of registered luggage which are charged extra by the coach crew,
- hand luggage – unregistered luggage carried on board the coach by the Passenger and remaining under their care for the entire travel duration;

- Ticket - a document authorizing the person indicated therein to travel on the route, in the time and for the price indicated in the ticket;
- Internet ticket - a ticket offered by Jordan Group as purchased and printed through the website by the Passenger or by another person acting on the Passenger’s behalf;
- Line - an international coach connection operated by the carriers on the basis of a permit issued by respective administrative authorities;
- Timetable - an informative publication containing basic information on line routes, coach departure times and places, as well as other information necessary for the proper use of carriage services;
- Price List - current ticket fares on the routes included in the timetable; information on discounts and luggage charges applied
- VAT Invoice for carriage – a ticket is recognized as a VAT invoice pursuant to § 17 of the Act of 28 March 2011 on the Reimbursement of Tax to Certain Taxpayers, the Issuance of Invoices and the Manner of Storing the Same, as well as on the List of Goods and Services to which Goods and Services Tax Exemptions Do Not Apply (Journal of Laws of 2011 No. 68, item 360);
- Cooperating Companies – domestic and foreign carriers providing passenger transport services on the lines as mentioned in the time table and on destination boards installed in coaches;
- Carriage – a transport service provided as part of domestic and international regular line coach carriages effected by carriers represented by Jordan Group;
- Carriage Contract – a contract between a carrier and a Passenger as concluded through the purchase of a ticket; by concluding the Carriage Contract, the carrier undertakes to carry the Passenger to the agreed destination against remuneration (i.e. the amount due for the ticket);
- Agent – an economic operator bound by an agency contract signed with Jordan Group for the sale of tickets;
- Sale System – a computerized system used for sale and booking of tickets;
- Agency and Booking Fees – charges applicable for certain lines and collected at the sale of tickets as transaction and booking fees. The amount of the fees is established by the carrier. The fees do not constitute integral parts of the ticket price.
- CARRIER
- The Carrier shall:
- perform the carriage of the Passenger and their luggage on the route specified in the ticket with the use of transport means which is in good technical condition and licensed for road traffic;
- provide substitute means of transport in the event of a breach in transport resulting from a failure.
- The carrier shall take every effort to carry the Passenger and their luggage in due time, in compliance with the current timetable.
- The carriage should be effected by the carrier or by cooperating companies, although, it may be entrusted temporarily to other transport companies, on the entire carriage route or its part, nevertheless, the carrier shall be responsible for such companies’ operations in the same manner as for its own.
- For logistic and/or safety reasons, the carrier may introduce transfers during the journey as not provided for in the timetable.
- The carrier has the right to prevent a Passenger from taking a seat in the coach or refuse to provide further carriage for them if the Passenger:
- fails to observe the terms of the carriage contract,
- is in a condition indicative of the consumption of alcohol or intoxicating agents
- is in a condition indicative of being ill and consequences of the illness may be hazardous to other Passengers,
- behaves in a manner which is arduous for fellow passengers unless preventing him/her from taking a seat or refusing to provide carriage would violate principles of community life,
- does not have the documents required for crossing a border or fails to observe customs and/or foreign currency regulations or has not been allowed into the state by immigration authorities,
- carries good which due to their type or amount require a longer customs clearance and thereby may cause a delay in the clearance of the coach at the border.
- Pursuant to Article 135 clause 1 & 2 of the Act on Foreigners, the carrier is authorized to request that a Passenger who is a foreigner to present a valid passport and visa. Should the Passenger fail to present the above travel documents, the carrier shall be authorized to refuse their admittance onto the coach. In such a case, the Passenger may return the ticket on the terms indicated in section 6 hereof.
- The carrier reserves the right to refuse to provide carriage or to detain the ticket of the person who has come into possession of the same in a manner contrary to the law or to these Regulations or who cannot prove that he/she is the person whose particulars have been entered to the ticket.
- PASSENGER
- The Passenger shall:
- have a valid ticket and documents entitling them to the discounts applied in the ticket and shall present the same to the carrier’s representative (driver, pilot);
- have a document authorizing them to cross frontier border (a passport, an identity card) as well as other required documents and certificates necessary for the journey;
- arrive to the check-in location, at the coach stop, no later than 15 minutes before the planned coach departure;
- place the registered luggage in the luggage compartment once the luggage has been marked by the crew with a proper luggage label band;
- pay a charge for any extra luggage and place it in the luggage compartment once it is marked by the crew with a proper luggage label band;
- conform to instructions of the coach crew and observe the regulations applicable to transport;
- present the required documents upon the request of authorized border and customs services, as well as the ticket and the luggage receipt at the request of authorized inspectors.
- The Passenger’s failure to arrive at the check-in location, at the coach stop, no later than at the time indicated in the timetable as the coach departure time is tantamount with resignation from traveling.
- Unless applicable provisions of the travel destination country and transit countries provide otherwise, all underage persons up to the age of 12 must travel under the care of an adult. Persons between 12 and 18 years of age may travel individually if they hold notarized consent of their parents or guardian for individual travel. Such persons may also travel individually if they hold the document entitled “Authorization for Carrying an Underage Person Jordan Group” as signed by their parents or guardian. The document is made out and issued together with a ticket at a ticket sale outlet, also in a situation in which the person travelling with an underage person is not his or her guardian. Any deviations from the above rules are specified in timetables of the respective lines.
- Only an adult can be a guardian of a disabled person during the journey.
- When the coach is fitted with safety belts, the Passenger is obliged to fasten them and use them appropriately.
- Children under the age of 12 and not more than 150 cm in height are carried in protective car seats or in other equipment intended for carrying children as suited for the child’s weight and height as well as for technical conditions.
A guardian travelling with a child is obliged to provide a protective car seat for the child. The child should stay in the protective car seat during the entire journey.
In consequence of the failure to comply with the above requirement, a fine may be imposed directly upon the Passenger.
- Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages are prohibited on board the coach.
- During breaks, the Passenger must observe the previously set times of break ends so that no search or delay of the departure is necessitated as a result of the Passenger’s negligence.
- Passengers are covered under the carrier’s accidental insurance. The insurance covers only situations that may occur during the Passenger’s stay on the coach. Any fortuitous events causing any damage outside the coach are not covered under the insurance.
- LUGGAGE
- A Passenger may take 2 pieces of luggage free of charge with them:
- one piece of basic luggage weighing up to 25 kg and with total dimensions (height + width + length) of 190 cm as carried in the luggage compartment. A Passenger may declare the luggage value which should not exceed the actual value. The carrier may check the conformity of the declared value with the actual one and in the event of any objections, the carrier may indicate this fact on the luggage receipt or the reverse side of the ticket,
- one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 5 kg. Dimensions of the hand luggage must allow for placing it without restraint under the seat or on the rack over the Passenger’s seat and the luggage should not inconvenience the remaining Passengers. Any luggage that does not comply with the above requirements shall be treated as extra luggage and can only be carried against an additional charge.
- Information on any deviations concerning the amount and dimensions of basic luggage and extra luggage is included in the timetable of the respective line.
- The Passenger has the right to take subsequent pieces of registered luggage unless the terms indicated in the timetable of the respective line provide for otherwise. The total weight of all pieces of the registered luggage may not exceed 35 kg.
- The charge for the luggage carried is collected on the basis of the luggage label band attached to the luggage. Amounts of charges for carriage of the second and subsequent pieces of the basic luggage are indicated in the timetable.
- A Passenger should make sure that the luggage label band has been permanently attached to their luggage. A Passenger has the right to refuse to pay for carriage of the luggage if he/she has not received a luggage label band marked as payable from the carrier.
- The decision on taking extra luggage remains at the discretion of the coach crew.
- Each piece of the luggage carried in the luggage compartment should be marked by the Passenger with a durable tag with the Owner’s name and address.
- A Passenger being a disabled person is entitled to the gratuitous transport of necessary rehabilitative equipment.
- Carrying any luggage or to have on one any materials or objects that constitute a challenge to safety in transport and may cause damage to other Passengers or to the Carrier and/or expose Passengers to inconvenience is prohibited.
- Carrying any objects, the transport of which is forbidden under separate regulations is prohibited.
- Carrying animals on a coach unless generally binding regulations provide for otherwise is prohibited.
- The carrier shall not be responsible for hand luggage or other things carried by the Passenger under their own supervision unless the damage to the luggage has occurred due to the carrier’s fault.
- The carrier shall not be responsible for any loss of or damage to any money, securities and valuables, particularly jewellery or objects of scientific or artistic value unless the carrier has accepted these things against receipt for safe keeping or the damage to them has occurred due to the carrier’s intentional fault or gross negligence.
- Pursuant to Article 23 clause 3 of the Transport Law Act, in the case of reasonable suspicion, the carrier may check whether or not the contents of the luggage infringes on the terms hereof.
- In the event of the transport of valuables, taking out an individual insurance policy on the luggage for the journey period is recommended.
- The carrier has the right to refuse to take luggage if it does not comply with the requirements specified herein.
- The carrier issues the luggage to the holder of the respective slip of the luggage label band and is not obliged to check whether the person presenting the slip is actually authorized to collect the luggage.
- The carrier may issue the luggage to the person who is not able to present the luggage label band but has otherwise proved their rights to collect the luggage; in the case of any doubt, the carrier may request an adequate security.
- Objects that are not luggage, specifically the Passenger’s hand luggage, and do not belong to the coach equipment may be removed from the vehicle.
- A Passenger is fully responsible before the border service for the hand luggage carried by them as located in the immediate vicinity of the seat occupied in the coach, i.e. before, under, next to or behind (in the case of the last row) the seat occupied by them, as well as in the luggage rack over the seat and in the Passenger’s personal belongings.
- The luggage not collected by the Passenger is subject to removal. In the case of dangerous or perishable objects, the removal is performed immediately upon expiration of the collection time. In other cases –after the lapse of 30 days from the acceptance date, however not earlier than after 10 days from the date of notification of the person authorized to collect the luggage on the intention to remove the same. The rules for the removal of uncollected luggage are set forth by the provisions of the Transport Law.
- TICKET
- The ticket is a document authorizing a Passenger to travel.
- By purchasing a ticket, the Passenger enters into a contract of carriage with the carrier on the terms set forth herein.
- The ticket purchased from an agent of Jordan Group is issued by the agent at a ticket sale outlet, whereas an online ticket is printed directly by the Passenger from the website.
- Ticket types:
- single ticket - this is a ticket with a specified departure date, authorizing travel in one direction – from the place where the journey starts to the place where it ends;
- closed return ticket (dated) - this is a ticket authorizing travel there and back, with departure dates in both directions specified in advance;
- open return ticket - this is a ticket authorizing travel in both direction, however the date of the return journey is determined by the holder at the time chosen by themselves.
- The date of the return journey for a return ticket must fall within the following range: departure date + 180 days. The range is called the ticket’s validity period.
For some lines, the validity period may be different and the relevant information can always be found in the timetable of the respective line.
- The date of return or the arrangement related to the date of return in an open ticket can be changed in the ticket validity period.
- From the moment of specifying the date of return for an open ticket, such a ticket is treated as a dated return ticket, also when the date of return has been specified in the selling system, without making an entry in the ticket itself.
- Dates of departure / return can only be changed for the dates when free seats are available; the same applies to the dates of return in the case of open tickets.
- Accurate information on sites of booking open return tickets is included in the timetable of the respective line and available at Jordan Group ticket sale outlets and with coach crews.
- To be valid, a ticket must contain the following information:
- The ticket number - the name and surname of the Passenger,
- specification of the travel route and the travel commencement date,
- the name of the carrier – the seller,
- the price.
- A ticket is a VAT invoice within the meaning of the regulations on the tax on goods and services provided that its contents include the following data: tax identification numbers (NIP) of the carrier - the seller, the ticket number and issue date, fare distance not shorter than 50 km, the amount due plus VAT and the VAT amount.
- A ticket purchased for a disabled person, must additionally include contact data of the person who should be notified in the event of an emergency (in the notes column)
- The person buying a ticket is obliged to verify the correctness of the data included therein and to check the number of the coupons entitling the Passenger to make the journey.
- Changes to the ticket:
- any changes related to the ticket can only be made at the place where it was purchased. Any changes in online tickets are to be made by the Passenger by provide information and sending it : cpm@jordan.pl
- a change of the departure date made no later than one business day before the departure is subject to the charge specified under the timetable of the line for which the ticket has been purchased;
- any charges related to changes in tickets are specified in the timetable on the website related to the respective line;
- Giving a ticket to other persons without changing the ticket owner on the ticket printout is not allowed. Such a change can be done by the agent prior to commencement of the journey to which the respective ticket entitles. Any changes in a ticket should be confirmed with a seal and signature of the agent making the changes.
- Both a ticket purchased from an agent and an online ticket are subject to checking and verification by the carrier’s representative (driver, pilot) at accepting the Passenger on board the coach.
- Apart from special cases, no seats can be booked on operated lines without purchasing tickets.
- Seats on a coach are sold without assigning a specific seat number. Seats on a coach are assigned by the carrier’s representative (driver, pilot) at accepting the Passenger on board the coach.
- WITHDRAWING FROM THE CONTRACT OF CARRIAGE, RETURN OF A TICKET
- A Passenger may withdraw from the contract of carriage prior to commencement of the journey or at the site of stoppage of the means of transport on the carriage road. In such a case, the Passenger should obtain a relevant certificate entered in the ticket printout, from the carrier.
- The Passenger who has withdrawn from the contract of carriage, or has not been admitted to carriage (section 2.5 hereof) is entitled to reimbursement of the amount due for the unused carriage performance upon deduction of a part of that amount (compensation), subject to provisions of section 6.3 hereof. The deducted amount (compensation) depends on the time in which the Passenger notified of their resignation from the carriage. The time is counted in hours from the date and time of the journey commencement as indicated in the ticket. The deduction is not applied when the Passenger withdraws from the contract of carriage for reasons attributable to the carrier.
- The amount due is not reimbursed:
- for tickets destroyed to a degree making it impossible to identify them, as well as for lost or stolen tickets,
- for an unused ticket, returned after the coach departure time, without previous documenting the resignation from the journey,
- for the unused part of an open return ticket after the expiration of the ticket validity period.
- promotion tickets are not refundable
- A ticket can be returned provided that it is complete, not damaged and has all control coupons. The returned ticket should be accompanied with a cash-register receipt if the ticket was sold with the use of a cash-register.
- A ticket can be returned no later than on the departure date indicated on the ticket. The return coupon of a dated return ticket may be given back no later than on the return date indicated on the ticket and in the case of an open return ticket – in the ticket validity period.
- The ticket should be returned no later than on the departure date, before the departure time indicated on the ticket.
- The amount due for a ticket or the return part of a ticket shall be reimbursed to the Passenger upon deduction of the compensation and reimbursement costs (banking and postal charges). The compensation amounts to:

- 10% of the ticket price when the ticket is returned no later than on the last business day before the departure date indicated on the ticket, however no later than 24 hours before the set departure time,
- 10% of the difference between the price of the return ticket and that of the single one in the case of dated or open return tickets when the return part of the ticket is given back, however no later than 24 hours before the indicated departure time and in the case of an open ticket – within in its validity period,
- 95% of the price of a single ticket (departure coupon) and 10% of the difference between the price of a return ticket and that of a single one (return coupon) provided that the return ticket is given back no later than on the last business day before the return date indicated on the ticket or specified in the sale system and in the case of an open ticket – within in its validity period,
- 95% of the ticket price when a single ticket is given back no later than 24 hours before the departure date indicated in the ticket contents, however no later than at the departure time (date and hour) indicated in the ticket contents,
- 95% of the difference between the price of the return ticket and that of the single one in the case of dated or open return tickets when the return part of the ticket is given back, however no later than 24 hours before the indicated departure time and in the case of an open ticket – within in its validity period,
At the same time, neither deduction may be higher than the actual costs incurred by the carrier .
- In the event of a change of the contract of carriage or a withdrawal from the contract by the Passenger no sooner than after their taking a seat in the coach or during the journey, as well as in the case in which the Passenger has been removed from the coach for reasons indicated in section 2.5. hereof, the Passenger is entitled to reimbursement of the ticket price upon deduction of compensation in the amount of 95% of the ticket price.
- A ticket purchased from an agent should be returned through the same agent that the ticket was purchased from.
- A resignation from a journey by the Passenger having an online ticket may only by sending information to e-mail address cpm@jordan.pl with ticket number , name of Passenger, number financial transaction . The resignation from the journey is carried out with the deduction referred to in section 6.7. The money reimbursed in consequence of such a resignation shall be transferred to the bank account or to the debit card account that the payment was made from. In the event of a payment for a ticket made with a money order - to the address or bank account indicated by the Passenger.
- TIMETABLE AND PRICES
- A timetable may include deviations from the rules set forth herein, as valid for the particular line which the timetable applies to; in such a case, the identifier is the number of the line indicated in the timetable and on the ticket. Such deviations are binding.
- The ticket price is determined on the basis of the price list effective on the date of the ticket sale.
- When a Passenger is entitled to two or more discounts, the highest discount available to them is applied. Discounts cannot be combined (added) unless the Rules for granting the discounts provide for otherwise.
- When the journey is divided into two or more sections for which separate tickets are issued, different rules for granting discounts for each section (ticket) may be applied.
- COMPLAINTS
- Any complaints related to the performance of a contract of carriage with Jordan Group shall be made in writing to the address cpm@jordan.pl or through the agent that the ticket was purchased from.
- Complaints may be made within 3 months from the date of occurrence of the circumstances being the subject matter of the complaint. When making a complaint, describing the circumstances which occurred, the objections raised, any damage sustained and related claims, etc. is required. Each complaint shall be accompanied by the ticket or a photocopy of the same as well as by bills documenting any costs incurred by the Passenger in respect to the complaint.
- Complaints related to the luggage carried in the luggage compartment should be submitted to the person issuing the luggage at the time of issuance of the same. Acceptance of the luggage by the authorized person without reservations shall result in expiration of any claims on loss or damage unless:

- the damage was established by official record before the luggage was accepted by the authorized person,
- such establishment was omitted due to the carrier’s fault,
- the loss or damage occurred arose from the carrier’s intentional fault or gross negligence,

- Carrier considers complaints within 30 days from the date of receiving the same. In justified cases, the time limit for considering complaints may be extended to 3 months provided that the Passenger has been notified of the reasons for the extension.
- In the case of personal injuries and damage to luggage, the Passenger is the person authorized to make complaints and raise claims and in particular circumstances, their successor to their rights.
- In the event of the loss of luggage for any reason attributable to the carrier, the amount of damages related to registered luggage may not exceed the common value of the carried luggage.
- LIABILITIES OF THE CONTRACTING PARTIES
- The carrier shall be liable for the non-performance or improper performance of the contract of carriage of people and luggage on the terms set forth in the Transport Law Act.
- The carrier shall be liable for any damage which occurred to the hand luggage if the damage is attributable to the carrier.
- The amount of damages due from the carrier for the loss, decrease of, or damage to luggage may not exceed the common value of the luggage carried.
- The Passenger shall be liable for any damage inflicted to the carrier and other Passengers on the general principles of the civil law.
- The right to pursue claims before court is vested in the entitled Passenger upon the ineffective exhausting of the complaint procedure.
- PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
- Carrier may process personal data without the Passenger’s consent for proper implementation of the contract of carriage, in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act and other applicable provisions of law.
- Carrier undertakes to maintain in secret the data and not to reveal them to any other entities other than upon the Passenger’s express authorization or when such authorization follows from the provisions of law.
- A Passenger has the right to inspect the data imparted to carrier as well as to update and modify such data.
- FINAL PROVISIONS
- The provisions referred to in section 1.2 of these Regulations shall apply to any issues not regulated herein.
- The provisions of these Regulations enter into force as of 01.02.2016.
